Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a mechanical form of exfoliation using a scalpel to gently exfoliate the skin, revealing smoother, brighter and a more even complexion. Dermaplaning allows for deeper penetration of products and can be used in combination with other treatments to make it more aggressive. As an added benefit it also gets rid of vellus hairs aka “peach fuzz”, allowing makeup to lay flat on the skin, making it a great facial before an event.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it hurt?

“Scalpel” can sound frightening but the treatment is actually very relaxing. The stroke like movement as it gently scrapes away dead skin can even feel like a light tickle.

Who is dermaplaning right for?

Dermaplaning is great for all skin types except for people with open sores, wounds, sensitive or irritated skin in the treatment area, allergies to stainless steel, bleeding disorders and if you are currently taking Accutane.

Will the hair grow back thicker and darker?

Its a common misconception that if you shave your hair that it will grow back thicker and darker. It’s important to note that dermaplaning does not get rid of terminal hair which are the thick, coarse, darker hairs and are a result of hormones. The peach fuzz that dermaplaning gets rid of will grow back over the course of a month to its original color and length.
