Eliminate Veins Without Surgery

In the past, the only way to get rid of varicose veins was through surgical vein stripping, which was painful and resulted in lengthy recovery. Thanks to The Vein Center’s advanced medical lasers, getting rid of unwanted veins is now safe and easy.

The Vein Center is the only clinic in Central Minnesota that offers the VenaCure EVLT™ procedure. This treatment is minimally invasive, requires no general anesthesia, and offers little to no down time.

The Vein Center’s varicose vein treatments are performed right in the doctor’s office and generally take about one hour. You can return to your normal daily activities immediately. Our procedures offer a safe, fast, and effective way to eliminate unwanted veins.

About Varicose Veins

Varicose veins can develop through a combination of weakened vein walls and faulty valves. Under a variety of circumstances, normally toned, elastic vein walls can become weak and allow the recirculating blood that should be moving toward your heart to flow backward.

One-way valves in these veins—which open and enable blood to flow through on its way upward, then close to stop the blood from flowing backward—can also fail to function properly. This allows blood to pool and pressure to build up, which further weakens and subsequently damages the veins, causing them to become twisted, enlarged and painful.

The  Procedure

Varicose vein laser treatment is done right in our office and takes about one hour. No general anesthesia is required—just a simple local anesthetic.

  1. A thin laser fiber is inserted into the damaged vein through a very small entry point.
  2. Laser light is emitted through the fiber. The energy from the laser light seals the faulty vein.
  3. By sealing the faulty veins, blood is automatically diverted to nearby functional veins. This results in improvement in appearance as well as symptoms of pain, swelling and fatigue.

Safety

A laser is a highly concentrated beam of light. Medical lasers work by delivering this energy to the targeted tissue with extreme precision. Their safety and effectiveness have been proven through years of medical procedures. Lasers offer far less risk than conventional surgery.

Results That Last

Laser treatment has proven to be up to 98% effective in clinical trials. Veins that have been treated are very unlikely to become problematic again. However, sometimes follow-up procedures may be desired for optimal appearance.
